Terms & Conditions

TERMS & CONDITIONS

TERMINATION OF CONTRACT

All fees are based on a four weekly term. Once fees are paid for a four weekly term, they are non-refundable, whether you or your child attend classes or not. Although we don’t want to see anyone leave, we understand that situations change, if this is the case, we would appreciate 4 weeks notice to allow us to offer the space to someone on our waiting list. This can be given to us in writing to weareuaa@hotmail.com or alternatively a text message can be sent to Stacey on 07595510843. Your notice period will be taken from the date we receive your email/text. You will be permitted to continue with the classes until the notice period has ended.

RENEWALS

We will assume you will be continuing with the same classes each term, unless we are informed otherwise (by email or text message).

LATE, MISSED OR CANCELLED PAYMENTS

Late payments: We completely understand that financial hardship can fall upon us at any time. Please communicate with us if you have a problem with paying and we can try and come to some form of payment plan to assist.

Late, missed or cancelled payments will be subject to a £5 late payment charge. In addition, any payments made later than 10 days after the due date, unless otherwise authorised by UAA in writing to you, will be subject to an additional late payment charge of 10% of the outstanding fee. If payments are more than three weeks overdue, students will be unable to participate in any classes until payment is made in full (this includes any late payment fees and interest added to the account). Only when the account has been settled in full will you be able to then participate in the classes. If the account is not settled in full within one month of the due date, we reserve the right to offer your place to somebody else on a waiting list.

Outstanding payments: If payment requests are ignored then we may be forced to take legal action and external debt collectors may be actioned to recoup any outstanding money.

REFUNDS

The school will not be held responsible for classes cancelled for circumstances beyond the school’s control. If it is necessary to cancel a class due to adverse weather conditions / a force majeure, no refunds will be issued.

Fees Refunds: All fees remain payable whether or not you/your child attend the class(es). There are no reductions or refunds for missed classes under any circumstances (including injury, sickness or holidays), or if you/your child cannot attend a class due to their participation in another UAA performance/exam/event.

Ticket Refunds: All event tickets are non-refundable once purchased regardless of the reason (e.g. this includes shows, parties, etc). This applies even if the child no longer attends the classes.

Costume Refunds: Unfortunately, these are not refundable unless it is still within the retailer’s returns policy. Should returns have a delivery cost, it will be deducted from your costume refund. Altered costumes cannot be returned under any circumstances.

Workshop Refunds: All workshops are confirmed on receipt of payment. A 50% refund will only be issued if the workshop is at full capacity and the space can be filled by another paying student. This will also require 7 day’s notice.

Show Registration Fee: Any show registration fees are non-refundable. This is due to the administration required for each event.

CLASS POLICY AND CODE OF CONDUCT

Clothing: All students need to be in the appropriate dance/sports clothing and footwear (see list below under Health and Safety).

Jewellery: No jewellery is to be worn to class at any time. If any jewellery cannot be removed then it should be covered with a plaster.

Hair: Hair is to be tied up so it is out of the face to keep vision clear and to avoid any distractions when learning.

Arrival Time: Students should be present at class start time as warm up is compulsory for every class, if you arrive late you will either have to warm up on the side while class continues or not participate at all. It is not safe for students to be attempting tricks, etc without correctly warming up first.

Behaviour: Teachers and staff expect respect and polite behaviour from all involved with UAA at all times. Any inappropriate behaviour will be recorded and suitable action will be taken. If any inappropriate behaviour takes place from either staff or customers, we ask kindly that it be reported to us to help resolve the situation as this too will not be tolerated.

If a student’s behaviour in class is unacceptable, disrespectful or distracting and disrupting to the others in the class, we will ask them to leave the class. We are within our rights to ask anyone to leave the premises at any time if a behaviour is deemed inappropriate and threatening. In the event of this being a minor, the appropriate guardian will be contacted.

TEACHERS

We engage industry based professionals to instruct classes. At times scheduled teachers may not be available and as such an alternative teacher will temporarily replace the scheduled teacher. Due to the nature of the industry and the high standard of teachers employed at UAA, teachers may rotate and change at the discretion of management. All of our teachers undergo an enhanced DBS check.

SAFEGUARDING

Our prime responsibility is the welfare and well being of all children in our care. As such we believe that we have a duty to the children, parents/main carers and staff to act quickly and responsibly in any instance that may come to our attention.

All staff and volunteers employed by UAA are DBS checked and covered under UAA’s Public Liability Insurance.

If we have reason to believe a child in our care is subject to abuse or neglect, UAA will disclose your contact information to the relevant authorities where the law requires.

MISCELLANEOUS

The school timetable may be subject to change. Parents/carers will be notified of any changes.

If students and/or parents break the terms and conditions, they may be asked to leave by the Principal and no refund given.

The school rules are designed to enhance your children’s learning and enjoyment of the dance experience and help maximise their full potential. If you have any queries regarding our policies, or complaints, please contact Stacey or Luke.
